This particular Bolt has an estimated full-battery range of 238 miles. With a price tag of 30-thousand dollars after tax rebates, that makes it the first affordable long-range electric car on the market. It_s also surprisingly powerful with a 200 horsepower electric drive, and nearly silent performance. We_ll get to know it a bit better when it hits showrooms at the end of this year. The silent performance aspect of the Bolt and other electric cars isn_t as popular as you might think. In fact, the US National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is demanding that electric cars make MORE noise The agency says the quiet cars could be a threat to pedestrians, and has implemented a new rule calling for automakers to make sure hybrid and electric cars are a bit louder. While the Chevy Bolt might be Motor Trend_s Car of the Year, the Tesla Model S can take solace knowing it_s the most LOVED car in America It_s the second time in three years the car_s won the honor. The Tesla beat out the next runner-up, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan, by a WIDE margin in the Consumer Love Index survey. Tesla fans LOVE the car_s performance, and take pride in owning a green-friendly ride. President-elect Donald Trump isn_t going to like THIS Ford has announced it will be the first car company to import vehicles from India, TO the US If you followed the election race you probably know that Ford_s already in Trump_s cross-hairs for importing cars from Mexico. Last week Ford introduced a small SUV called the EcoSport. It_s being built at a Ford plant in India and is scheduled to start shipping in 2018. Trump_s pledged to impose a 35-percent tax on cars imported from south of the border. Will he do the same with India? Stay tuned And it_s a gearhead_s dream come true A new streaming service from car lover Adam Carolla is shaping up to be the Netflix of car movies Chassy.com is being described as a premium automotive video on-demand service. Last year, Carolla and director Nate Adams came together to make the critically acclaimed Paul Newman driving doc called Winning. Now they_re working together on Chassy, and with its launch they_ve put together another epic racing documentary called The 24 Hour War. It tells the tale of the Ford and Ferrari rivalry at LeMans in the 1960s. There_s not a ton of content yet, but Carolla_s promising PLENTY more in the months ahead.
