Enjoy the steamy summer weather while you can folks The latest Long Range Weather Forecast from The Old Farmer_s Almanac is out, and it_s calling for a long, bone-chilling winter It seems every part of the US will endure a different brand of unpleasantness. In the Northeast and Midwest, people can expect temperatures even colder than usual. The Pacific Northwest will be doused with plenty of rain and chilly. And in the Appalachian regions, where skiers actually look forward to the white stuff, weather_s expected to be a tad warmer and less snowy than normal. Scientists often dismiss the almanac_s predictions, but it was bang-on with last year_s winter forecast. You_ve been warned Do YOU live in a house with your parents or grandparents? If so you_re far from alone. Nearly one in five Americans – or 60 million people in the US – now live in multi-generational households It_s a record high according to the Pew Research Center. Since 1980, there_s been a steady rise in the numbers of young adults still living with older family members. For millennials aged 18 to 34, living with their parents became the MOST common living arrangement in 2014. It_s the first time that_s happened in 130 years Analysts attribute the changes to a decline in marriage and the lasting economic impact of the 2008 recession. And if you_re planning a fishing trip in Michigan you may want to reconsider The South American red-bellied pacus, or vegetarian piranha, have been spotted in Lake St. Clair and Port Huron. Pacus are known for their creepy human-looking teeth, though thankfully their diet is mostly plant-based. They_re native to the Amazon, but people often keep them in aquariums as exotic pets. Thing is, the fish often outgrow their tanks, and that_s likely what caused someone to release them into the wild. That doesn_t mean anyone should panic, Isabella. Pacus are tropical weather fish, and wildlife authorities say it_s highly unlikely they_ll be able to survive through a harsh Michigan winter.
