Here_s Katherine Curtis to tell you more. Peyton marathon talks in Belarus have yielded a roadmap to peace in eastern Ukraine. Negotiations between leaders from Russia Ukraine France and Germany have ironed out some of the big issues in ending the struggle there. A ceasefire will take effect on February 15th and heavy weapons will be pulled out of the conflict zones shortly thereafter. Prisoner exchanges are also part of the deal which has already been signed by pro-Russian rebels. In other news veteran CBS correspondent Bob Simon has been killed in a car accident in New York City. Simon was a longtime member of 60 Minutes and his five decade-long run in the news business saw him cover a number of overseas conflicts. He even survived a stint in an Iraqi prison during the Gulf War. The 73-year old earned 27 Emmy awards during his distinguished career. He will be sorrily missed. And Costa Concordia captain Francesco Schettino has been sentenced to 16 years in prison for his role in the 2012 shipwreck. Schettino was in charge of the ill-fated cruise liner when it hit rocks off the Italian island of Giglio. Schettino then abandoned the ship during emergency evacuations. 32 people died in the accident and the jury found the disgraced captain guilty of multiple manslaughter among other charges.
